Giving Day 2022

Manchester University Giving Day is April 20

Manchester University has set Giving Day 2022 for Wednesday, April 20.

Gifts go to The Manchester Fund, which helps provide scholarships for students who might not otherwise be able to afford a Manchester education. It also covers many day-to-day expenses – from lab equipment to baseballs to utility bills.

The theme is “Manchester Bold: The Future is Ours,” a salute to its alumni, donors, students, faculty and staff. They live the Manchester Mission: Manchester University respects the infinite worth of every individual and graduates persons of ability and conviction who draw upon their education and faith to lead principled, productive, and compassionate lives that improve the human condition.

“That bold mission drives all that we do. Giving Day is a celebration of our common bond,” said Megan Sarber, alumni relations director and member of the Manchester Class of 2007. “Alumni and friends give generously, and students learn about the joy of giving back. Through on-campus events and social media, Giving Day is a time to connect and reconnect, celebrating a place we love.”

To donate, check on Giving Day donation progress, find matching challenges and fun Giving Day activities, go to http://givingday.jlspfcw.com/.

You can also make a gift by phone at 260-982-5997. Donations can also be sent to Manchester University, c/o Giving Day, 604 E. College Ave., North Manchester, IN 46962. Manchester University is a 501(c)3 organization and gifts may be deductible as allowed by state and federal law.

The Manchester Fund helps in a variety of ways:

  • It provides financial aid to allow deserving students of need to have the funds to stay at Manchester and graduate.
  • It provides funds for classroom technology upgrades that improve student learning and expand opportunities for students and faculty to perform side-by-side research.
  • Because the University’s endowment is modest, the fund serves as a financial shock absorber when prices escalate, something needs to be repaired or something else needs to be replaced.
  • It provides funds for supplies and equipment so that University staff can keep buildings clean and safe and maintain MU’s beautiful grounds.
  • It helps pay for laboratory equipment and supplies, periodical subscriptions, online resources and library books for studying, writing and research.
  • Student activities such as May Day weekend and Homecoming create memories and add fun to the Manchester experience.

    For the media

There will be activities at the North Manchester campus during Giving Day, and you are welcome to take photos outside, or in the command center in Haist Commons, which is on the lower level of the Jo Young Switzer Center.

The University has created several Giving Day videos: http://givingday.jlspfcw.com/pages/give-bold. You are welcome to share them on social media.
